Moving Apartments in Dubai: Lift Bookings, Timing and Building Rules

Most apartment moves in Dubai happen in towers, where the lift and the loading area decide how fast the day goes. Sort these out early.

Talk to building management first

Rules differ from building to building. Ask management about the hours when moving is allowed, whether the lift must be booked, and whether there are fees or deposits. Ask if protection is required for the lift and corridors. Do this for both the building you are leaving and the one you are moving into.

Book the lift and the loading area

Reserve the service lift for the full duration of the move, not just the start. Ask where the truck can park and how far it is from the lift, because a long carry adds time.

Prepare access

• Clear corridors and the area around the door
• Keep a path free from the flat to the lift
• Take down anything fragile or loose on the walls
• Tell your mover about narrow doors, tight corners or stairs

Choose the right timing

Starting early in the day usually gives you more room in the lift and more time to finish. Weekends and month-end are often busier, so book early if you need those dates.
